The majority of people who go into missions in a long-term way have had prior experience doing short-term missions. We don't usually make a long-term commitment to something we haven't been exposed to in some way. While this statistic doesn't tell us what happens to the majority of people who take short-term trips, it DOES give us the clue that short-term is a good pathway for those who are considering long-term commitment.
We highly recommend short-term missions for those who might be asking what their place is in the Great Commission!
